Unemployment Compensation:
The number of states currently providing unemployment compensation to spouses who lose employment due to a PCS move has increased to 27!

Attention Fort Carson Military Spouses:
The Fort Carson ACS Employment Readiness Program and the Pikes Peak Work Force Center have teamed up to provide a new and employment program for military spouses. This program is designed to assist military spouses and civil service employees in securing employment due to military transfer or reduction in forces. This initiative provides free transportation, vocational/ community and college education assistance as well as job interview attire (when needed). Air Force Officials Update Key Spouse Program:
As part of the 2009-2010 Year of the Air Force Family initiative, a revised Key Spouse program has been launched. According to the Official U.S. Air Force Web site, the Key Spouse Program is an official communication network designed to establish a sense of community among unit leaders, Airmen and their families. A Key Spouse volunteer may be the spouse of an officer, an enlisted Airman, a Department of Defense civilian or other qualified person connected to the unit. Additionally, unit leaders formally select and appoint each Key Spouse.
